It is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who previously helmed films like Raid, Ghanchakkar, No One Killed Jessica and Aamir. The film also stars Rajesh Sharma, Prasanth Alexandrr, Gaurav Mishra, Aasif Khan, Bajrangbali Singh, Santilal Mukherjee and Pravin Singh Sisodia in key roles and is produced by Fox Star Studios, Raj Kumar Gupta and Myra Karn.

Arjun Kapoor is currently shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's Panipat. He is playing the role of Sadashivrao Bhau, who served as the Sardar Senapati (Commander-in-Chief) of the Maratha army during the third battle of Panipat. Sanjay Dutt is portraying the role of Ahmad Shah Durrani (Shah of Durrani Empire), who emerged victorious in the third battle of Panipat. Kriti Sanon will also be seen in the period drama, she essays the role of Sadashivrao’s second wife, Parvatibai. The music of Panipat will be composed by award-winning duo Ajay-Atul.
