Yash Raj Films and Dibakar Banerjee collaborate to bring forth a new thriller, Titli.While the film has Ranvir Shorey in a pivotal role, the film actually revolves around the central character Titli (Shashank Arora) and his dysfunctional family. Directed by Kanu Behl, the film was supposed to release earlier in the year but the makers decided to show at various film festivals before releasing it in India. The film has already received lots of accolades in the festival circuit and is all set to release on October 30.
In the badlands of Delhi’s dystopic underbelly, Titli, the youngest member of a violent car-jacking family plots a desperate bid to escape the family business. His struggle to do so is crushed at each stage by his brothers, who finally try marrying him off to settle him down.
But in fact Titli, finds an unlikely ally in his new wife, who herself is caught in her own web of warped reality and dysfunctional dreams. They form a strange and beneficial partnership, only to confront their inability to escape the bindings of their family roots. But is escape, the same as freedom?
Only time will tell as to how this hard hitting film does at the box office. But, we have to say that Ranvir Shorey looks a convincing criminal and he is at his evil best in Titli.
