Have you ever thought what would happen if you were trapped in your own home? Not such a scary thought, huh? I mean isn't home a safe haven where you feel the most comfortable in the world? But imagine that you have just moved into your new residence and there is very scanty furniture and food left, you are trapped in there and there is no one to hear your screams for help. How’s that as a thought? Vikramaditya Motwane tries to work on that idea and makes you fear your own home in the promo of his latest movie, Trapped.
With all the trappings of being a favourite at the festival circuit, Trapped has Rajkummar Rao in the lead role and we are sure that 98 per cent of the movie will revolve around him. The trailer of the movie has just been released and it has managed to scare the living daylights out of me! What's more...the trailer doesn't toy around with ghosts or masked serial killers. It only plays on one intangible fear – claustrophobia! The trailer starts off by showing Rajkummar Rao’s character hastily trying to rush out of his own flat that's situated in a highrise building, and his door has some issues due to which it gets jammed. There are banners of ‘Welcome ‘in the flat, suggesting he has just moved in. As he nears the lift, his mobile phone goes off and he realises that he has left home without it. Rushing back to the house, he leaves the keys in the keyhole as he attends the call from his girlfriend. A gust of wind closes the door, and thanks to the jamming issue, he is unable to open it. Thereafter starts his struggle to get out of his apartment. He tries breaking the door by throwing heavy furniture on it and even tries to scream out, drawing attention to himself but to no avail. At one point he even throws his flat screen TV set down, but the watchman fails to hear it. Creatures like rats and cockroaches, normal animals you find in your house, seem like ominous monsters in the trailer of the film.

However, we don’t know why he was unable to call up his girlfriend through his phone and let her know about his plight, but we do hope the movie answers this pertinent question.
Trapped is scheduled to release on March 17.
