The live wire of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh once again showed his versatility with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's last year blockbuster Padmaavat, where he portrayed the character of the menacing king, Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Right from celebs to the general audience, everyone praised his performance and claimed that it was one of his best. Apart from garnering accolades and awards, the film was Ranveer Singh's highest grosser, collecting 302 crores. While we are raving about Ranveer's powerful act in the film, you will be surprised to know that a star kid was his body double in the film. Do you know who he was? Well, he recently made his Bollywood debut, which was bankrolled by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Anyway, let us tell you that it was Jaaved Jaaferi's son Meezaan Jafferi.
In an interview with Zoom, Meezaan revealed, "I was assisting Sanjay sir on Padmaavat. One day, they were discussing how difficult it would be to shoot certain scenes as Ranveer was unavailable. To my surprise, Sanjay sir said that I should do it. The next day, I was asked to memorize all of Ranveer’s gestures and lines.” Since both actors have a similar body structure, it might have turned an easier process for makers.
Meezaan featured in Malaal opposite another debutant Sharmin Segal, which was released a few months back. While the film failed to impress the audience, cinegoers praised Meezaan's performance and said that he has the potential to be the next young superstar. Talking about Ranveer Singh, the actor has just wrapped the shooting of Kabir Khan's '83, which also stars wife Deepika Padukone along with Pankaj Tripathi, Saaqib Saleem, Tahir Raj Bhasin and others. The sports drama is set to hit the screens on April 10, 2020. So, are you excited for it? Tweet to us @bollywood_life.
