As we know, Silk Smitha was a siren down in South. She was also a heavy smoker. To make it look genuine, Vidya took up chain-smoking. So much so that the actress would smoke a whole pack in the day. Before shooting, Vidya would smoke upto ten cigarettes in a row to get into the character. Vidya had revealed that she could get bad headaches at the same time. The crew would have to assist her as she would often fall sick because of it. However, once they finished filming, she gave up the bad habit of smoking.

Coming back to her upcoming release, Mission Mangal, it also stars Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, HG Dattatreya, Sanjay Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Vikram Gokhale in key roles.
