Bigg Boss season 10 winner Manveer Gurjar on Saturday lined up to vote in the first phase of Uttar Pradesh polls for 73 seats across 15 districts. There was huge excitement among voters when they spotted Gujjar in the queue. Some overzealous persons also clicked selfies with the reality show winner. Manveer had won the show on January 29 where he had participated as a commoner pitted against celebrities.
"Being a commoner, I did not expect to win the show as the house was full of celebs and influential people. However, my strategy was not to get afraid or influenced by them but to build up my image. So today if the audience voted me and made me a winner, it is because of my honesty and the real face that I projected in the show," Manveer told IANS just after winning the show.
"My journey inside the house was not at all easy and within three weeks I felt like giving up. But Manu (Punjabi) and I bonded over many things very well. We supported each other and that made the journey easy for both of us. Our bonding, undoubtedly, was a strength for me. I even told Salman (Khan) sir that his (Manu's) support was a contribution to my survival," Manveer added.
Asked about his future plans, Manveer said: "I am overwhelmed with the love and support that I have got from the people of our country. Therefore, I am yet to make my plan. Having said that, I want to act in Hindi films and would like to act opposite Shraddha Kapoor for my debut film."
Manveer feels since his newfound celebrity status is a by-product of his stint on television, he wants to continue his association with the small screen -- be it by the way of anchoring shows or even daily soaps.
