Regional and mainstream members of film fraternity to come together will interact with journalists tomorrow
Several filmmakers including Adoor Gopalakrishnan (DadaSaheb Phalke award-winner), National award-winning film-makers Kundan Shah, Dibakar Bannerjee, Hansal Mehta and Resul Pookutty (also a Padmashri and Oscar award-winner) along with several others will gather at Mumbai press club to address the issue that has been plaguing the FTII fraternity and students.
The alumnus which includes over 183 national award-winning members is aggrieved the government’s incapacity to address the problem and will discuss the same with the media tomorrow. A letter is going to be presented to the President urging him to look into the matter immediately. Signatories include Mani Ratnam, Aparna Sen among other noted filmmakers.
It has been three months after first protests began on the FTII campus and the film making community is disappointed that government is unable to take a constructive action. This meeting will help address the issue at hand.
