Well, that's what the actor confessed after the success of Dishoom
Varun Dhawan’s latest movie, Dishoom has been successful at box office and the actor can’t stop smiling. This movie meant a lot to him as his last release - Dilwale, failed to please the audience. Also, his brother was directing him for the first time, so the pressure on him was double. There were numerous reasons behind Dishoom’s success. Firstly it had all the correct ingredients to make a movie successful, right from an entertaining plot to good songs. In addition to this, the chemistry between Varun and John was appreciated by the audience as well.
Speaking to a leading daily on the pressure he faced for Dishoom, the actor said, “Yes there was crazy amount of pressure on me after Dilwale did monetarily. Though people liked the movie, many felt that my performance was not up to the mark as they expected more from me, which is fare.”
The actor takes his critics as well as fans seriously. He believes that box office is not the correct parameter to judge a movie. Sometimes people’s love and appreciation also matters. The Badlapur actor further believes that, Dishoom is successful and satisfying that way. Though it has a successful run at the box office, the movie has been critically successful as well. Varun wants to be the next bankable actor who wants to entertain his audiences with sensible movies.
After the actor tried his hand at an action movie with Dishoom, he now wants to explore other genres like horror and sci-fi. Varun who is excited for his next Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, wants to do something more realistic now. He is nothing like what he plays in Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya. The actor who personally prefers dark characters says that he would like to attempt that side since he has made his audiences laugh and now he would like to scare them.
