The handsome hunk of Bollywood, Varun Dhawan, who recently started the shooting of his upcoming venture, Bhediya, was in the news to play the lead role in Sajid Nadiadwala's Sanki. While the official announcement is yet to made, the latest reports suggest that it will be a remake of Tamil thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Varun will play the character of physically challenged cop in it with Parineeti Chopra coming on board as the female lead.

As per the Bollywood Hungama report, a source said, "Sajid Nadiadwala had bought the official rights to the superhit Tamil thriller Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. Sanki is a remake of the same film. They are adapting the screenplay to suit the pan-India platform." The source added, "It's a cleverly crafted thriller, where Varun Dhawan plays a top cop who loses his leg during one of the investigations. It's challenging for Varun because he plays a character battling a physical handicap for the first time in his career." Well, looking at the plot, we can definitely say that the makers have a winner in their hands.
Talking about Varun Dhawan's Bhediya, the film also features Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal in key roles. The story is written by Niren Bhatt who wrote the scripts for Bala, Made In China, Wrong Side Raju. It is directed by Bala and Stree helmer Amar Kaushik. On the other hand, Parineeti Chopra's Saina has hit the screens today. In the biographical sports drama, the actress plays the character of ace shuttler Saina Nehwal. It is directed by Amole Gupte, who previously helmed Stanley Ka Dabba and Hawaa Hawaai. It also features Eshan Naqvi and Manav Kaul in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Sujay Jairaj and Rasesh Shah.
