And it happened not once, but twice!
It is very easy to get intimidated by Shah Rukh Khan. He has this charm which overwhelms you. He is a very warm person to meet because he tries really hard to make you feel at ease. But despite all that, you get sweaty palms when you meet him. That's because he is so affable. But for someone who sees him shooting on the set, things might get a little more intense. Say for example Varun Dhawan who recently claimed that he wasn't too intimidated by Shah Rukh and Kajol on the sets since they made it comfortable. Turns out he did have a few jittery instances whenever he saw SRK for the first time on the set of any film. It happened in My Name Is Khan and it was repeated in Dilwale as well.
In one of the press interactions, Varun said that when he was an assistant to Karan Johar on the sets of My Name Is Khan, he had goofed up once and many years later, he did the same on the sets of Dilwale. He mentioned that during one of the shots of MNIK, he gave the clap and got so overwhelmed by SRK's presence that he walked right into the frame rather than clearing the area. He even walked towards SRK and bumped into him. Naturally, the shot had to be cancelled. And now we hear, same happened on the sets of Dilwale as well. Apparently, it was his first scene with Shah Rukh and he forgot his cue. It was an intense 6-minute sequence where Varun is telling SRK about a girl he likes. He fumbled. We think that's really sweet! Varun is a superstar in his own right having five back to back hits and despite all that, he is the grounded youngster that we always knew who gets affected by the hugely successful Shah Rukh Khan!
Varun, we are totally with you! SRK, not fair...
