The film is to be out on May 27
One of the biggest hits of maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma in recent times was the thrilling biopic Killing Veerappan. The Kannada film was released at the beginning of the year and it had earned the director some positive reviews on his film after a very long time. Capitalising on the success of the Shivarajkumar film, RGV is planning for an ambitious remake.
Ram Gopal Varma has unveiled the the first look of his film Veerappan. Right off the bat, he has clarified that this film is not a dubbed version of Killing Veerappan but is actually a full fledged remake. The first look shows Veerappan looking ferocious as he twirls his moustache. He is in his military gear and has a rifle slung on his back. It looks like Sandeep Bharadwaj will be playing the notorious forest brigand in the Bollywood version too.
Other than the very prominent Veerappan, it also shows a forest road on which a few vehicles are going. In one corner, you can also see an elephant. The entire poster has a sepia coloured hue. But the title Veerappan in blood red letters will grab all your attention. Under it, there is a tagline No Villain Like Him Ever Existed. There is also the little fact written that," It took 10 years to kill Osama Bin Laden, it took 20 years to kill Veerappan."
This Hindi remake also stars Lisa Ray in a crucial role along with Usha Jadhav, who has done a lot of television. Looks like RGV is all set to recreate the Veerappan magic. However, considering his past record with Bollywood films, it remains to be seen if he can break free of his bad luck or will it continue to haunt him.
