The Bollywood movie is a remake of Killing Veerappan
Quite recently, maverick director Ram Gopal Varma announced that he is going to make an ambitious remake of his latest Kannada hit film Killing Veerappan. The Hindi version is called Veerappan and the first look has already been unveiled which was really dark and mysterious. Now, a new motion poster of the biopic has been released.
If you thought the first look was dark and dangerous, then this motion poster will terrify you. The mystery and creepy factor of the motion poster is on another level. First we get to hear some sinister sounding jungle drums as the words," It took 10 years to kill Osama Bin Laden" blazes across the screening. It is followed by the roar of a tiger which sounds very real and scary. Then the words," It took 20 years to kill Veerappan." appears on the screen. Looks like RGV is following the same taglines of Killing Veerappan.
Then we finally have a glimpse of the notorious forest brigand Veerappan himself. He is wading into waist deep water with a roaring waterfall behind him. He holds a bullet in his mouth and he looks behind him with a hunted look in his eyes. It is strange that we have only seen Veerappan's character in all posters so far, whereas in Kannada version, the cop character played by veteran actor Shivarajkumar was more prominent. We wonder who will play the role of Shivarajkumar in the Hindi version. Veerappan stars Lisa Ray and Usha Jadhav in crucial roles. It will be released on May 27.
