The rom-com has grossed over Rs 100 crore at the worldwide box office making it one of the biggest hits of its lead star. While the film continues to gather great footfalls in the cinema halls, ace filmmaker Raghavendra Rao, who is known for making films like Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu, Shirdi Sai and many others has said that director Geetha Govindam director Parasuram has copied his film Pelli Sandadi.
During the recently held Santosham awards, many biggies like Chiranjeevi, Allu Arvind, S Janaki and Raghavendra Rao marked their attendance as the chief guests. In the event, Rao opened up Vijay Deverakonda starrer and said, “The director Parasuram copied my movie Pelli Sandadi and made Geetha Govindam. “Allu Aravind and I had made Pelli Sandadi 20 years ago. Geetha Govindam reminded me of my movie. Generally it’s impossible to make a movie without a single kiss. There will be a lot of pressure from the producers. I congratulate director Parasuram for making the movie without compromising."
Recently the makers of the film held a success bash, which was attended by stylish star Allu Arjun. Earlier filmmaker Parsuram revealed that Allu Arjun was the first choice for the film and he took the script to him but it was a wrong time. According to him, he narrated the script after Sarainodu. After a commercial entertainer, the actor didn’t look apt for a film like Geetha Govindam.
