The movie will be intense yet romantic.
GNR Kumaravelan is back with his next movie-Wagah that is about a a Border Security Force officer and a Kashmiri girl. The movie has proved to be a challenge for Vikram considering they were shooting in Kashmir, very close to the Indian-Pakistan Border. He revealed to a leading portal "We would be shooting for the film on one side and there'd be real shooting happening on the other! We would hear sounds of bombs from a distance." They reportedly had to shoot in extreme climatic conditions along with carrying heavy equipment. The team somehow managed to complete the shoot in 69 days.
He further mentioned,"When Kumaravelan sir (director) approached me for the role, I felt proud. I gave it my nod although I knew it would be a challenging project indeed." It was the former Chief Minister of Kashmir, Mufti Mohamed Syed who helped them sought permission to shoot in Kashmir. There was a lot of paperwork involved as they had to seek permission from the concerned authorities.
According to reports, the film is a result of two years of research. First and foremost, the director had to make sure, he got his facts right and then secondly of course, the director had to go visit the shooting site in Kashmir to gauge the situation. Certain action, emotions had to be tweaked keeping in mind the format of a commercial film, the director mentioned in a leading portal.
The movie also stars Karuna and Sathyan in lead roles. The music is composed by Imman and is produced by Vijay Bhargavi films. This war love story is all set to release on 12th August.
