Card desiger Ravish Kapoor disclosed the entire process behind the making of the wedding card
Shahid Kapoor is getting married to Delhi based Mira Rajput on July 7. The wedding invite that was leaked two days ago has already become the talk of the town. Delhi-based designer Ravish Kapoor has prepared this elegant cream coloured invite with turquoise details for the Haider actor.
Recently Ravish Kapoor gave a candid interview to a leading daily, where he disclosed some candid details about the process involved in designing the card. When asked if he was approached by Shahid's family, the designer revealed," Actually I was the one who pitched him first. When I got to know about his wedding I messaged him, introduced myself. He also didn’t exactly know ‘ki shaadi honi kab hai’ ."
Talking more about the card, Ravish disclosed that he met Shahid at IIFA and from there they started brain storming about the intricacies of the wedding card. Ravish said,"Two months back. So, yeah, they came to know about me. I also did the IIFA invitation cards too and Shahid won the Best Actor Award there. Then his parents, Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak, visited our showroom in Mumbai. They gave us a brief ‘simple and elegant.’ Now since Shahid was also at IIFA, me too, so his parents told him, ‘Why don’t you meet him there?’ We were staying in the same hotel too. And then we took over from there. We landed in Mumbai at the same time too. Thereafter, we had a meeting again. We had about two to three meetings and everything was decided."
Giving details about Shahid's inputs for designing the card, Ravish said," Shahid was very particular about everything – font, colour. He doesn’t like Gold and he had told us to use minimum of Gold. So if you notice, we have written only his and Mira’s names in Gold. Then, he was the one who suggested us to keep tea in the box. His father Pankaj jee is like a connoiseur of tea, so we discussed with him too. The tea bags kept in the box are not the regular ones. We made a special blending and packaged them. And we kept the best quality honey in the bottles."
Also the card designer explained how it was Shahid's idea to include both his mother and step mother's name in the wedding card. Speaking about it Ravish said," When we were designing the card, that day only he told us. ‘Both are my mothers and both names should be there.’ He also said Neelima jee’s name should be above and then Supriya jee and then Pankaj jee. In fact, earlier we had planned to design a logo and place it near peacock on the front cover. So I we kept “S” above “M”. He didn’t like it. He said, “Either ‘S’ and ‘M’ should be at the same level, or ‘M’ should be above."
