2.0 is all set to hit the big screens on November 29 and the hysteria around the film is evident on all the social media platforms. Ahead of the release of the film, superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and director Shankar interacted with the media in Hyderabad and revealed quite a few interesting aspects about the film. One such thing that was shared was the reason behind why the makers had to reschedule the release of 2.0 multiple times. Director Shankar revealed that one of the companies handling the VFX works on 2.0 couldn’t deliver the output on time which caused the delay in the release. "Initially, we planned things in such a way that 2.0 can be released in 2017. One of the many VFX companies had promised that they will deliver the output two months before our planned release date. But as we were nearing the release date, they said that they won't be able to deliver it on time and would require six more months of time. So, we postponed the release of 2.0 at that point in time. And based on that schedule, we planned the audio launch of 2.0 in Dubai. And on the day of the audio launch, the VFX company tells us the final output isn't ready yet and they would need more time to complete it," said Shankar.
The director also revealed that they found out something about the VFX company that really shocked them. "We were in a state of shock when they told us about it at the audio launch of 2.0. When we enquired about that VFX company, we learnt that the company were not capable of handling such large scale of VFX works which put us in a fix. So, we decided to change the VFX studio and gave it to a bigger studio. And that's when I was satisfied with the rushed they showed us," [sic] added Shankar.
