While it is known that Arjun-Sonakshi starrer is a remake of Telugu film Okkadu, it also shares thread with Shah Rukh's 1997 blockbuster. Read on to find out...
The 90's were the golden period in Shah Rukh Khan's career with films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dil To Pagal Hai establishing the Happy New Year actor as the king of romance in Bollywood. It's 2014 and all of a sudden, out of the blue, SRK's 1997 blockbuster Dil To Pagal Hai is hogging limelight. Why, you ask? Cos SRK-Madhuri-Karishma starrer has something in common to Arjun Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha's Tevar.
Before you start drawing parallels between the plots of the two films and jump to conclusions, we let you know that Tevar is not a remake of DTPH, but that of Mahesh Babu's Telugu flick Okkadu. So what does SRK's DTPH and Arjun Kapoor's Tevar have in common? Their titles. Yes, you heard that right. According to reports, Yash Chopra's Dil To Pagal Hai was supposed to be titled Tevar, but was discarded later. We hear that Boney Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor approached Aditya Chopra requesting him to use the title Tevar for their film, to which Aditya kindly obliged.
With an action packed story line, the hot and happening couple Arjun-Sona as lead pair and now the SRK connection to the film, will Tevar strike gold at the box office? Guess we'll have to wait and watch.
