A powerful film often gives its doer some jitters, and the actress couldn't escape that either...
Sonam Kapoor has often been called a fashionista. Many a times, her impeccable style statement eclipsed her histrionics. But if you look at her filmography, she has done varied roles. If she played a rebellious Bitto, she also played a love struck woman who likes it to happen the cliched way. If that's not enough, she has also done a hard hitting role in Raanjhanaa which had many shades. In such a small time, she has shown variety which isn't something you see in many people! We are pretty sure Neerja Bhanot's biopic will silence a lot of her critics but did you know, the film left Sonam shaken? Yes, that's exactly what she felt while shooting it!
Talking to a daily, Sonam said, "It was daunting to play someone so heroic because you don't want to let their memories own. I gave the film 150 per cent, even over-prepped for it. There was a lot of research involved. It is the scariest film I have done." For those who are unaware of Neerja Bhanot's bravery, here's a brief account of the same. She was a flight attendent who was murdered while saving passengers from terrorists on board the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 on 5 September 1986. Sonam plays her role in the biopic!
Bhanot was one of the rare humans who understood humanity and did whatever she could to save lives, risking her own. A film on her should have been made much earlier but it's better late than never. And we are eager to see Sonam in it!
