Farhan Akthar and Saif Ali Khan's friendship goes back to the Dil Chahta Hai days. Other than becoming a cult classic, it gave Farhan a name as a director and resurrected Saif's sinking career.
But recent turn of events might have turned their friendship sour. Farhan Akthar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment, which is backing Zoya Akthar's Dil Dhadakne Do, is also producing a Reema Kagti film. It is said that Saif Ali Khan was zeroed in as the hero and was given a signing amount of Rs 2 crore in advance. Reports claim that Saif has refused to return the money after walking out of the project.
This led to Farhan's company filing a complaint against Saif to Association of Motion Pictures And Television Program Producer. "Saif was given `2crore, which he hasn't returned. Hence, the complaint," said a source close to Excel Entertainment. We hear that the Association is in discussion with both the parties and is keen in solving the issue amicably.
