It seems the followup will be grand in terms of numbers as well...
When Baahubali released, it was expected to do crazy numbers but what it earned was beyond imagination. The film earned 50 crore on it first day which is an enormous amount for any regional film which has been dubbed in so many languages. It's an astounding number, something nobody fathomed. It continued to bring in more money despite getting stiff competition in its second week from none other than Salman Khan and his Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Despite that it worked but Baahubali: The Conclusion has a clear run for two-three weeks before any big release can make things difficult for the film. So will it earn beyond what the first one did? Trade expert feels so.
In its first week, it earned 255 cr worldwide with 46. 77 cr coming from the Hindi version alone. It was expected that Bajrangi Bhaijaan which released a week later, would affect the film. And it did but not what people had anticipated. It continued to rake in good moolah which means the followup has chances of making more films, as our Trade expert, Amul Mohan, Editor of Super Cinema puts it, "Even if it has a half decent film coming up in the next two weeks, if a Salman Khan film like Bajrangi Bhaijaan couldn't put a stop on it, I don't think any other film can."
Mohan further added that it will easily go beyond Baahubali. "Obviously because the first one was a big hit, everybody talks about that film. It's a sequel where the anticipation and the monetary gains are on the higher side. Also, it's been a hit on TV as well. People are really looking forward to what part 2's going to be. It's one of those movies which comes once in a lifetime. And you want to see what the conclusion of the film is. It is rightly titled also, Baahubali The Conclusion."
So how eager are to watch this grand sequel of a grand film?
