Will Vishal Bhardwaj’s Hamlet remake revive Shahid Kapoor’s sagging career?

We hear that Shahid Kapoor has been finalised for Vishal Bhardwaj’s next based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Will this movie bring Sasha back into the reckoning, we wonder…

Vishal Bhardwaj is not only known for making hatke films, the intelligent director also extracts best from his actors. Be it Maqbool, Omkara or Kaminey, Bhardwaj’s mastery over his craft is unquestionable. And for his next peroject based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet the intelligent director has apparently signed Shahid Kapoor for the lead role. “Yes, I have been confirmed (for the film) just a few days back. This will be my second movie with Bhardwaj. This movie will challenge me as an actor,” confirmed Shahid in an interview with a leading daily. Last time when the two came together they gave is a delightful movie called Kaminey that was intensely dark and gripping. And now we are waiting for Bhardwaj to revive Shahid’s not so flourishing career. The good looking actor is excited about his upcoming rom-com Phata Poster Nikhla Hero (PPNH). Going by the trailer of PPNH, it looks more of fun than a promising venture that can draw the best out of Sasha. Will Bhardwaj revive Shahid’s sagging filmi career? Wethinks it should unless of course he converts the Shakespearean classic into another messy affair like Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola! For now Shahid should keep his fingers crossed and hope that Bhardwaj doesn’t go too outlandish with his hatke ideas!
