After the debacle of Zero featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Aanand L Rai is ready to bounce back with his upcoming film with Dhanush which also apparently stars Sara Ali Khan. Confirming his association with the director, Dhanush had earlier said, "Yes, I will be teaming up with Aanand L Rai in some time, but other than that, I am waiting for the right script to come my way. I am doing a Hindi film and there will be an announcement about the same pretty soon." And while Dhanush has confirmed doing the film, Sara Ali Khan is yet to announce it. An official confirmation from the filmmaker is awaited as well.
And now if a Peepingmoon report is to be believed, Akshay Kumar has agreed to do an extended cameo in the Aanand L Rai directorial. Although he is pre-occupied with Prithviraj, Bachchan Pandey, Sooryavanshi and Laxmmi Bomb, Akki managed to give his dates to the filmmaker. Aanand approached him for the film and he readily agreed to do the special appearance.
Before Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan's name was being speculated for Aanand L Rai's film. "Sara Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan were approached for this movie after Dhanush. And while an official announcement is yet to happen, the makers are quite excited for it already," a source close to Aanand's production had informed.

Earlier in an interview with PTI, Aanand L Rai had bared his heart out about Zero's failure and said, "I won’t say I am disappointed. I will need to understand (what went wrong). This is the story I wanted to say and I made it. After making Ranjhaanaa and Tanu Weds Manu and the second one, this film (Zero) was due for me to make. I took a certain flight and I have not landed on it properly."
