Everyone talks about empowering women and today, the world chooses to commemorate their achievements by making this day special for them. We at BollywoodLife also appreciate the women power in the nation and across the globe. We present seven films which describe a every mood and feeling of a woman. We dedicate these movies to our wives, mothers, sisters, girlfriends, etc.

Khoobsurat

Starring Sonam Kapoor, this film was about how a girl being a complete mismatch in a royal family, manages to win the heart of the most handsome price charming. Sonam's 'royal misfit' avatar was nothing less than spectacular. Also, its never easy to remake a Hrishikesh Mukerjee film, but this film can be called the mighty exception.

Mary Kom

Starring Priyanka Chopra, this film was about the life of a small town girl with a big dream. The biopic on Olympic medalist Mary Kom not just won PC a lot of appreciation, but also an entry into the Rs 100 crore club. The film got PC a lot of awards from various corners of the globe and brought forward the life of Mary Kom to the masses.

Mardaani

Starring Rani Mukerji, this film was about how an honest police women can stand up to the corrupt system and get things done the correct way when need be. The background theme of female kidnapping was described superbly by Pradeep Sarkar in this film. Also, Rani's stellar performance is remembered by all and she was recently rewarded with a National Award for the same.

Bobby Jasoos

Starring Vidya Balan, this film was about a Hyderabadi girl having big dreams of becoming a detective. Vidya's superb look changes in the film were appreciated a lot by the audiences.

Revolver Rani

Starring Kangana Ranaut, this film was about a desi gangster who falls in love and gets cheated by the guy. The portrayal of the desi-lovestuck gangster was done superbly by Kangy. The plot of the film was a satirical love story with the backdrop of politics, and that made the audiences go wow.

Gulaab Gang

Starring Madhuri Dixit Nene and Juhi Chawla, this film brought forward the real life of this UP gang of girls called Gulaab Gang. These girls together fight for their rights and try to let men know that they are nothing less in any manner. Madhuri and Juhi's superb portrayal of the characters were appreciated a lot by the fans and critics alike.

Queen

Starring Kangana Ranaut, this was possibly one of the best films to have come in a long time. The nuances of the character that Kangy portrayed made her the Queen of B-Town. Her performance not just won her numerous awards but also a lot of appreciation from the crowds and critics.

Lakshmi

Starring Monali Thakur, this film was helmed by the National Award winning director Nagesh Kukunoor. The film earned a lot of respect from people across the globe for the brilliant performances. The story not just made people cry but also made them stand up and understand the oppression that women face in the present days.

Dedh Ishqiya

Starring Madhuri Dixit Nene and Huma Qureshi, this film was about two girls who were trying to escape from their bad present and make a successful future for themselves. The film was a great representation of how manipulative women can be when need arises.
