What do you call actors who take up diverse roles in films? Versatile. And what do you call actors who take up seriously flawed characters on TV? What the hell! Those idiots deserve a rap on the knuckles for doing wrong stuff. With an increasing number of fans and fan clubs acting as brand managers/image consultants of their favourite actors, life is not as easy as it seems. There is an underlined pressure to be the perfect man of every young girl's dreams and the gorgeous superwoman who can tackle every power, superpower and look great while doing so. What happens when you get a little ambitious and pick up something a little discomforting? Well, you get schooled on social media. Let us come to the point. TV actors Shakti Arora and Drashti Dhami have been at the receiving end of severe backlash for playing a couple in an illicit relation on a TV show. The diva has always been the sweet girl of TV while Shakti's rose to popularity playing an earnest guy who will cross all limits in love. It is natural that fans would be a little upset to not see an encore but some of the backlash on social media is not only annoying but hilarious as well. It looks like they have committed some heinous crime by taking up the show. Check out some of the comments sent to the actors...
Well, people who have watched or are watching Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka are appalled that these much loved actors could play immoral characters. Some have expressed fear that seeing them indulge in 'wrong things' would set a bad example and extra-marital affairs would mushroom all around. And god forbid if a close friend sees the show and gets inspired to steal hubby dearest. Are there hidden enemies out to ruin my personal life and I am unaware? The show has exposed that reality is scary, scarier than the witches who stare at you from different shows.
There are fake deaths, kidnapping, bride-swapping, black magic and what not on Indian TV. If everything was so inspirational, Indian police would be tearing its hair now. But why is the scare of Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka so great? Because it is rooted in reality. But is every wife who sees her husband occasionally check out another hot woman insecure? We don't think so. But is it right to bully actors on their choice of roles? Absolutely not. If that was the case, no one would play serial killers, sadists, child molesters on the crime shows devoured by millions online and on TV. But why bother about trolling unknown actors when you have more famous ones to butcher.
We can see the comments directed at the actors. If that's not all then some have even tried to draw parallels with their real lives. When you read the comments, it is obvious that the educated lot is watching the show. But please get a life and let the actors do their jobs!
