The demise of Sushant Singh Rajput has left his fans in mourning. After delivering a Rs. 150 crore plus hit with Chhichhore, the actor was apparently diagnosed with depression. He was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020. The Mumbai Police declared it as a case of suicide but theorists have given it various versions on social media. Kangana Ranaut lashed out at the Bollywood mafia for sidelining and humiliating the late actor throughout his career. She said that late Sushant Singh Rajput did not get the recognition he deserved and nasty blind items were circulated to tarnish his image. She described it as emotional and psychological lynching.
In a recent interview, Naseeruddin Shah was asked about what followed after Sushant’s demise. He said, "No one is interested in the opinions of some half-educated starlet who decides to take it upon herself to you know, get justice for Sushant. If there is justice that needs to be done, I think we need to have faith in the process of the law and if it is none of our business I think we should we should not concern ourselves with it."
Well, Kangana Ranaut did not hit back at Naseeruddin Shah for his rather caustic comment. She said she wondered if he would make such a comment if she was the daughter of a star. We feel the veteran did not really need to pinpoint Kangana's lack of academic qualifications. There are very few academically inclined young stars in the industry. Late Sushant Singh Rajput was an exception. And whatever people might say about Kangana Ranaut using the demise of SSR for personal gains, she does state some hard facts without mincing her words. After all, everyone wants truth to prevail in this tragic manner. Naseeruddin Shah is an institution in himself. A little more grace would not have hurt him.
