Lyricist Sameer has come out in support of Anu Malik amidst the sexual harassment allegations levelled against him by Shweta Pandit. A day after Shweta shared her #MeToo story, Sameer, who was present at the recording when Shweta walked in with her mother, has narrated his side of tale. Taking to Twitter and backing Anu Malik, he wrote, "After working on song Anu called her “Beta aap kuch ganna suna chahte ho toh suno”. Shweta requested that if she can sing in some other room but Anuji said that I want Sameerji to also hear your voice . After hearing her voice Anuji said “ You have a good voice and I will definitely let you know for future projects” after that they left. This is really shocking and sad that today people can pass any comment without any proof."
Take a look at Sameer's tweet here:
Earlier, Shweta Pandit, in her tweet, alleged that Anu Malik made her uncomfortable by asking to kiss him when she was just 15. Responding to the allegations levied by Shweta, Anu Malik's legal counsel released a statement denying her claims are false and baseless. The statement read, "The allegations made against my client are emphatically denied as completely false and baseless. My client respects the #metoo movement but to use this movement to start a character assassination mission is obnoxious." Anu Malik, too had reacted to the matter saying that it is ridiculous.
Meanwhile, a response from Shweta is awaited.
