Why did the designers keep extra outfits for Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle?

The 23-year-old actor recently won the best supporting actress honour at the 71st Golden Globe Awards for her performance in American Hustle

Designer Michael Wilkinson said that they made sure to keep backups of Jennifer Lawrence's dress as she used to eat while wearing her costume.

Jennifer was completely carefree while shooting for American Hustle and didn't refrain from eating snacks when she was in her costume, said Wilkinson.

"I'm kind of glad we did (have more than one dress made) because Jennifer Lawrence is a very...let's say...raw and intuitive young lady and she's not against eating Doritos and snack food in her costume. So we were glad that we had a couple," Wilkinson told a leading magazine.
