Kim Soo Hyun's upcoming K-drama Knock Off’s promotional poster has been released online. In the drama, the actor is co-starring with Jo Bo Ah. The unexpected release has sparked debate and discussion on social media despite earlier reports that production had been paused by the OTT platform due to controversy.
The Knock Off poster quickly topped trends, dividing online opinions. The release comes amid Kim Soo Hyun's dating controversy with the late Kim Sae Ron, which led him to lose brand deals, projects. The actor has been facing numerous lawsuits seeking compensation.
Following the massive success of Queen of Tears, Kim Soo Hyun was slated to return in a crime-action drama set during South Korea's IMF era. Fans were eagerly awaiting to see their favorite star back on the screens.
However, in April, the production of the most-awaited drama was put on pause for an indefinite period after the leading actor Soo Hyun was accused of dating late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, following alleged evidence from a YouTube channel and her family.
A promotional poster of Kim Soo Hyun's upcoming drama surfaced online on May 2, generating buzz among people. Initially, it was thought to be fan-made work, but further investigation revealed it was sourced from the official IMDb site, indicating an official origin, hence an official poster.
Knock Off is officially postponed, and the behind-the-scenes story is still unclear following the poster release. However, it has become a hot topic of debate where many expressed their excitement for the drama while others criticised the OTT platform. Disney+ has yet to make its statement.
