Global star Priyanka Chopra is going to make a comeback in Indian cinema. The actress returned back to Hyderabad to finish the shooting of SSMB29, which was directed by SS Rajamouli and cast Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
Priyanka Chopra wrote #HappyIndependenceDay and included a video of the flag flying with pride as part of her brief yet impactful statement in her Instagram story.
In 2010, Priyanka Chopra made her television debut as the host of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 3, taking over for Akshay Kumar. She astonished many with her strong and authoritative appearance, which added a new vitality to the show. Despite her outstanding performance, the season did not garner much popularity, and it was her first and only appearance on Indian television. Following that, Priyanka did not return to television hosting.
With the ongoing rumours that Priyanka is going to be seen in Love and War, an insider has revealed that the actress will not be joining in the upcoming film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The insider said, ‘Priyanka Chopra Jonas just happened to post a throwback video of her song Ram Chahe Leela. While Priyanka and Sanjay Leela Bhansali share a great fondness and mutual respect for each other’s work, there is absolutely no truth to the speculation of them collaborating at this point in time.’
As for Priyanka Chopra’s arrival in Hyderabad, she came with her daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas and mother Madhu Chopra to film scenes for SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu. The release date for the film is yet to be announced.
Love and War will be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and it stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. The film is expected to release in March 2026.
Priyanka Chopra’s recent movie Heads of States was a hit, which was released on July 2, 2025 on Amazon Prime Video. Apart from her, it also stars Idris Elba, John Cena and many others in important roles.
