Event’s core themes

The Devanagari logo is a first for the Avatar franchise in India, designed to honour the country’s cultural heritage while mirroring the film’s themes of fire, transformation, and spiritual rebirth. Its unveiling in Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest cities, added deeper significance, connecting Avatar’s world of elemental clans to India’s own history of light, ritual, and renewal.

What did Ajit Andhare say?

Ajit Andhare said, “So, if you look at Avatar, the fire and ash we talk about, Agni (fire) and Vibhuti (ashes), are considered very fundamental elements. In our context, they purify and sanctify us, and this is the theme of Avatar. This is the prelude to our third phase, which is why Avatar is entering its third phase. You've already heard about how commercially impactful the film was, becoming the number one film worldwide.” He then added, “This is a film that earned five billion dollars, and you all applauded. But more importantly, it has received immense love in India. What's the reason for that? The beautiful world you see in this film, and the way the camera has depicted it, is certainly fascinating. But its values, its principles, its thought process, are directly connected to our civilization. Maintaining balance with nature, maintaining harmony with all living beings, all of these are part of our civilization, and that's why even a film that seems so different feels like our own. And it has already been so successful in this country. The most important thing is that the word avatar is directly connected to our language civilization, because this concept was created by this civilization. Today, in the digital world, we have given it various names like digital avatar and so on. But the incarnation of the Avatar is our concept, and so we thought that if it's connected to our civilization and our language, why not express it in the language from which this idea originated?”
