Actor Karan Patel who played the role of Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabatein has become a household name now. The actor spoke his heart out about not getting a single offer in television for the past 6 years.
In a conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya on their podcast, Karan reacted to Rupali Ganguly's Anupamaa being loved by women in India.
Haarsh Limbachiya praises Rupali starrer Anupamaa and says that it is an amazing show. He even asked Karan if he had ever watched Anupamaa and said, Kuch kuch episodes dekhe hai maine beech beech ke. Later Haarsh added saying, Maine toh Anupamaa dekhna tab chalu kiya jab mujhe pata laga ke wo super hit hogaya hai. Maine bola ek bar dekhu toh sahi ke kya hai.
Karan continued as he said, Maine bhi tabhi curiousity ke wajah se hi dekhna shuru kiya tha. Haarsh then asks Karan if he likes the show and the handsome hunk said, Theek hai matlab main follow toh nahi karta toh pata nahi.
Bharti added saying that Anupamaa is a women-oriented show and Karan said, Theek hai matlab audience ko toh acha lag raha hai na, recall value hai na show ki, bas, simple hai.
Bharti even says that women admire Rupali and look up to her. Karan said that, Haan matlab, Anupamaa naye zamane ki Tulsi, waisa hogaya hai ab. He walks down memory lane as he remembers aunties getting angry at him during his stint on Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and would lose their calm at him when he used to shout at Ishita (Divyanka Tripathi).
Karan also spoke about not getting an offer for the past 6 years. He said, I have not gotten a single daily soap offered in the last 6 years. Now, every day, around 150-200 new actors are being born. They will work on a show at 10 percent of the amount we would charge.
