Following the significant tradition in Korean culture, the memorial was organised for the actress who was found dead at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on February 16, 2025 at the age of 25. The 49th day milestone is considered very meaningful in Korean Buddhist customs.
The memorial service was organised in the presence of family members who gathered at the tomb in the morning to honour the memories of the late actress by offering prayer for her peaceful rest and gratitude towards the ones who supported them during the bad time.
Reportedly, during the memorial ceremony, the family repeated their commitment to bring justice to Kim Sae Ron and safeguard her honor amidst the ongoing controversy. The scandal took place after Kim Sae Ron’s alleged Kim Soo Hyun for having a romantic relationship with Kim Sae ROn when she was a minor.
However, the Queen of Tears actor and his agency GOLDMEDALIST had denied all the allegations surrounding Kim Soo Hyun. As per Kim Soo, they both dated for a period of time and then broke up. He didn’t have any relationship with the late actress when she was underaged.
Kim Soo Hyun’s claims were repeatedly denied by Kim Sae Ron’s family and a Youtube channel named GaroSero Research Center. They also revealed some of the private chats and photographs of the two actors sharing romantic moments together.
Since the release of private chat and pictures, the popular Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family for leaking private life which his agency also considers a serious crime. This, making the situation more complex with both the parties involved in legal battles.
On March 31, the National Assembly Electronic Petition System launched a formal petition The Kim Soo Hyun Prevention Act involving popular Korean star Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Reportedly the petition has collected over 42,939 signatures.
