He said that he read and heard about the movie on social media and did not feel like watching it. He said that situations is now like Nazi Germany. He said people feared going against the establishment.
He said that such movies were a dangerous trend. He said that there we so many films that just sank like Bheed, Afwaah but something like The Kerala Story is a hit. He said he hopes people get fatigued of hate.
He said that he saw Om Puri learnt a lot during his stay in NSD. He said he was overconfident which made him later wonder if he would get work or not. Naseeruddin Shah was from Aligarh University.
He said that it has become fashionable to hate the Muslim community. He said even the educated lot of India is doing the same. He stated that people with vested interests are tapping into this nerve. He said it is worrisome.
The veteran said that he gave a lot of grief to Kundan Shah. Naseeruddin Shah said he did not find the situations funny. He said that Shah was out to make a movie like Marx Brothers. He was not aware of the same.
He said that he realised his mistake after watching Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. He said the film as a satire did an excellent job of communicating to the audience. He said he found it funny when he watched it.
The actor said that it was nice that a new building came up but said the religious angle was not needed. Religion is not needed in everything. He slammed the ruling party's obsession with delusions of grandeur.
He said it is the death of an actor when he thinks he is a star. He called young actors immature for roaming around with an entourage of people. He said once actors believe what press writes about them, it is dangerous.
Naseeruddin Shah said it was nothing new that Bollywood was mum on the issue of female wrestlers. He said no one would dare to make a film. He said Bollywood is scared of the backlash or repercussions of doing so. He said the girls have brought medals to the nation.
