Actor Vishnu Manchu is busy with his film Kannappa, which is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu. As per reports, the film was made with an estimated budget of Rs 200 crores.
However, the actor revealed that he didn’t pay any money to these two actors for their roles in the film and threatened to kill them if they paid them money. Can you guess the actors?
In the film, Vishnu Manchu revealed that Prabhas and Mohanlal did cameo roles for Kannappa for free and did not charge any money. In an interview with SCREEN, he said, “Two people helped me greatly to make the film what it is today: Mohanlal and Prabhas. Mohanlal is such great superstar, he didn’t really have to do a small role in my film, but due to his love and respect for my father, he agreed to do the role in less than a minute.
The actor continued, “Secondly, Prabhas, he is a great friend of mine. He is not just one of the biggest stars in India but in Asia. He too didn’t have to do this role. But after I confessed to him that I would need his presence for a greater reach of my film, he agreed immediately. He didn’t even care to listen to his role in the film.
Vishnu shared that Prabhas even threatened to kill him for offering money for his role in the film and added, “Both Prabhas and Mohanlal didn’t take a single penny to do the role. Every time I ask them to quote their fees, they would yell at me.
He further added, “They will say: ‘Itne bade aadmi hogaye ho ki humein paise doge?’ Mohanlal said you grew up around me and today you dare to pay me for my work? Prabhas threatened to kill me.
Vishnu Manchu also said that Prabhas and Mohanlal did not charge any money for the film, but Akshay Kumar also charged far less than what he usually charges.
Kannappa is based on the legend of Kannappa in Hinduism, a devotee of the god Shiva. The film stars Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, along with Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Preity Mukhundhan and Madhoo.
