Saiyaara broke all records to become one of the most popular films of 2025 within 8 days of its release. The romantic thriller was released in theatres on July 18, is now behind Vicky Kaushal’s Chaava, which minted over Rs 600 crores.
Saiyaara, featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padd, broke the record of Housefull 5 to become the second highest grossing film of the year and is now behind Chaava. On the ninth day of release, Mohit Suri’s film made another record at the box office.
According to reports, Saiyaara earned Rs 175. 25 crore in the first week and Rs 18. 5 crore on the eighth day of release, taking the total business to Rs 193.75 crore. According to Sacnilk, on the ninth day till 6:05 pm, Ssaiyaara collected around Rs 15.32 crore, making the total to 209.07 crore. However, the data is not yet final and the score card might see further changes.
In 2025, many big films were released in theatres including Salman Khan’s Sikandar, Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, and Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par but no film touched the magical figure of Rs 200 crores.
Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 was the closest to the mark of Rs 200 but the films’ earnings stopped after reaching Rs 183.3 crores. Now, Saiyaara who features two debutants Aneet and Ahaan has become the second highest grossing film of the year after Chaava.
According to film critic, Taran Adarsh, the number of screens of the film has been increased. Originally the film was released on 2225 screens in the first week but now the screens has been increased to 3650. This will impact the earning of the film in a positive way.
With the increased screens, Saiyaara will soon cross the Rs 250 crore mark and with this speed the milestone of Rs 300 crore also doesn’t seem far away. The musical romance drama has been made with the budget of Rs 60 crore, under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
