Mohit Suri’s film Saiyaara has been making headlines with its insane box office collection in the first week of release. The romantic drama has reached the magical number of Rs 200 crores at the box office within just nine days of release.
Interestingly, no other big release, including Salman Khan’s Sikandar, Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2, and Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5, has touched the magical numbers of Rs 200 crore at the box office. With this, Saiyaara became the second film after Chaava to cross the Rs 200 crore milestone.
According to film critic and trade expert Taran Adarsh, he had predicted Saiyaara’s earnings on his X-post when the film crossed the Rs 150 mark. He said that the film will easily cross the Rs 200 crores in the second weekend and will reach around Rs 300 crores.
In the post, Taran Adarsh further questioned whether the film will reach the Rs 400 club. However, watching the current figures, the milestones seem possible to reach. The film will soon reach close to Rs 500 crore worldwide.
After beating half a dozen films released this year, Saiyaara is set to cross the Rs 300 crore mark with the makers' smart strategy. According to reports, the makers have decided to increase the number of screens, which will help in boosting the collection at the box office.
According to reports, originally, the film was released at 2225 screens in the first week, but now the number of screens has been increased to 3650, which will instantly boost the earnings. The number of shows has increased by more than 60% which can make a huge percentage increase in the earnings.
Several other films have been released with Saiyaara, including South’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu to Hollywood film Fantastic Four. But these releases didn’t have any effect on Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s film. The next big release is on August 1, and therefore, Saiyaara has time till Friday.
