Dwayne Johnson's new look caught everyone's attention at the Venice Film Festival. He lost weight for his character Mark Kerr. Dwayne appeared much slimmer than before which increased curiosity among the fans whether he did this weight loss in a natural way or opted for other methods.
Dwayne Johnson this physical transformation was for his next project The Smashing Machine, which is scheduled to release on October 3, 2025. According to the Daily Mail report, he lost about 60 pounds which is about 27 kg, shedding from his earlier 300 pounds to 240 pounds. The reason for this change was that Mark Kerr's physique was different from the usual big body of 53-year-old Dwayne.
There are speculations on social media about his weight loss process.There was a discussion on social media about whether Dwayne used Ozempic. Ozempic is a type of drug that is mainly used to manage type 2 diabetes. Many celebs underwent weightloss and some users claimed that Dwayne may also use it, but so far the actor has not confirmed it.
Dwayne himself has revealed about his weight loss process. He made changes to his diet and workout routine. He adopted a high-protein and low-sugar diet, replacing his old high-calorie food. His diet included protein sources such as chicken, fish, beef, as well as complex carbohydrates like rice, potatoes, and green vegetables. In a press conference, he said, It was something I was really hungry to do.
Dwayne also changed his routine in terms of workouts. He used to focus more on strength training earlier, but now he adapted his training to the physique of an MMA fighter. This included combining strength training with regular cardio exercises.
The Rock did not make this change only for the film. He started losing weight in 2024 due to health problems. He had digestive problems for a long time and was advised by a doctor.
