A psychological horror film, A Tale of Two Sisters was released in 2003 and its main theme is the story of two sisters. The sisters’ torment and the fear that their stepmother puts them through are the main aspects of the film. The film’s plot is, literally, a reworking of the old Joseon-era folktale Janghwa Hongryeon jeon, which has gotten cinematic adaptations countless times.
