This actress is one of the most famous Bollywood actresses, but during her initial days was targeted by big names of the industry. Despite trolls, she emerged as a star and ruled Bollywood with her powerful performances.
The actress we are talking about is none other than Anushka Sharma, who made her Bollywood debut with Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi alongside Shah Rukh Khan. It was released in 2008. The story of the film revolves around a couple who try to adjust in their married life.
Anuska further said that her thinking was further changed by none other than director Aditya Chopra. He gave her a blunt assessment and told her that she is not the most good-looking girl and her looks are not enough for Bollywood, so it is better that she should focus on developing acting skills.
In an older interview, Anushka Sharma described herself as arrogant but revealed that a filmmaker helped change her perspective. In a conversation with Koyal Puri, she was questioned, “What is the most arrogant thing you’ve ever done?” To this, Anushka replied, “Before becoming an actress, I was very arrogant. I didn’t talk much to people in school or elsewhere. I actually considered myself superior.”
Anushka said, “I am very happy to be an actress. Because after becoming an actress, I really got a reality check from Aditya Chopra. He said that you are doing films, but you are not the best looking girl. Till then I used to think that I am the most good looking girl. I used to consider myself the most good looking girl, but then he told me and I said- Oh well. It is like that.”
Not just this, popular director Karan Johar openly confessed that he tried to block Anushka’s way from entering Bollywood. During a conversation at the 2016 MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Karan confessed that he told Aditya not to cast Anushka as he didn’t see potential in her.
Talking about Anushka’s personal life, she got married to cricketer Virat Kohli in an intimate ceremony in Italy on December 11, 2017, after a few years of dating. The couple is blessed with a daughter, Vamika, and a son, Akaay.
