A true visionary, a stalwart and a man with a golden heart - Ratan Tata is one name that needs no introduction. The industrialist passed away at the age of 86 at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. His death feels as a personal loss to everyone. Ratan Tata was the one who was credited for transforming the Tata Group into a conglomerate known globally. His demise has left everyone grieving.
Post his demise, Tata Sons issued a public statement confirming the reports of death of Ratan Tata. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, shared a statement that read, 'It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.'
Ratan Tata's life was like an open book. Everything was out in the open. From his achievements to personal life, Ratan Tata always remained his candid best. Till the very end, Ratan Tata did not get married.
When he appeared on rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Ratan Tata spoke about love, life and marriage. She said that there have been times when he has found love in his life, however, he could not settle in matrimony.
In the show, the ace industrialist shared that at times he did long to be married and have a companion in life. He was quoted saying, 'There are many times I feel lonely for not having a wife or family. There was a whole series of things, timing, my absorption in work.' He even added that at times he came close to marriage but it did not work out.
There are reports suggesting that Simi Garewal and Ratan Tata were also in a relationship for a brief period of time. However, their story did not move forward. Later in an interview, Simi Garewal called Ratan Tata a 'perfection', 'gentleman' and a 'modest' man.
To Humans of Bombay, Ratan Tata once revealed that when he was in the US, he was in love with a girl. They were almost going to get married. But things changed after he returned to India to meet his ailing grandmother.
Ratan Tata revealed that he came to India to meet his grandmother and returned to the US thinking that the girl would marry him and return to India with him. However, because of the Indo-China war, her parents were not okay with her moving to India. That led to breakup.
Ratan Tata had an unconditional love for dogs. He found his solace in caring for his furry friends. He opened the gates of his Taj Mahal Hotel for dogs to take shelter. He also started an Animal hospital.
