According to Vision Times, British psychic Ty William claimed in his livestream that Guo was no longer alive. A few days later, photos emerged of a masked man at the airport who appeared to resemble Guo, but fans suspect it was a body double. Following Yu Menglong's sudden death in Beijing on September 11, various conspiracy theories began to circulate. The government closed the case within 24 hours, calling it an accidental fall and alcohol intoxication. However, fans, fellow artists have questioned this decision and demanded an independent investigation.
Both Yu and Guo had several similarities and both had delicate features, considered popular types in China's entertainment industry. Both were under pressure from powerful figures in the industry. Another strange thing is that Guo's birthday is October 1st—China's National Day, which some are linking to the ritual.
Online investigators have also claimed that companies registered in the names of both artists were linked to arms trade and money laundering. This has fueled suspicions that their names may have been used in some secret business. British psychic Ty William said in his November 5th livestream that he saw signs of death and murder in tarot cards.

However, netizens pointed out differences in the shape of his eyes, ears, and face, saying, This is not the real Guo. Many said the man was fatter and had a different demeanor than the real Guo.
This was followed by a post from Guo's Weibo account: 好吃 (Hao Chi), meaning delicious. This was the same word that suspect Cheng Qingsong had posted after Yu's death. Some feng shui experts say this word is used as a secret symbol in certain sacrificial rituals. This further fueled suspicions that someone else might be running Guo's account.
