The demise of noted Chinese actor Yu Menglong has taken a dramatic turn. The police have named a total of 41 individuals as suspects in the case. Such a disclosure has led to intense discussions and doubts across various social media platforms.
Yu Menglong's life came to an end on September 11, 2025, when he fell from a building located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing. Initially, the police termed the incident an accident due to intoxication with alcohol. However, as per an article, the number of people involved or connected to the case has now increased from 17 to 41 in online conversations.
According to a report by India Forums, this number increased as several podcasters and social media channels began naming artists and individuals who were allegedly present on the night of Yu's death. This further fueled public suspicion about whether the incident was truly an accident or the result of a conspiracy.
Fans and netizens are increasingly doubting the official report. The report states that no one saw Yu Menglong's body, and no photos or videos of his death were released. Rumors are also circulating that Yu was held captive in the basement of the QiHao Museum before his death. However, this claim has not yet been substantiated.
According to the International Business Times UK, although the police did not consider the incident a crime, millions of people have signed a petition demanding a reinvestigation. Some rumors circulating on the dark web even suggest that Yu was tortured or sexually assaulted before his death. However, no concrete evidence has emerged to support these claims.
Beijing police and Yu Menglong's management company, Tianyu Media, issued statements stating that no crime was committed and that it was simply an unfortunate accident. But the public is unwilling to accept this. According to reports, public anger spread from social media to the streets, and the company faced numerous criticisms.
The claim of 41 suspects has now taken on a symbolic meaning. It means that the public believes that many people may be involved in Yu's death. Some also believe that influential people are trying to suppress the case to prevent the truth from coming out. This claim has raised questions about the transparency of the investigation, and people are demanding an independent inquiry.
So far, no credible source has released a list of the 41 suspects. This number has emerged mostly from online discussions and social media posts, not from any official police report.
