According to Vision Times, the case is back in the news as people claim that Yu's mobile phone was found with a mysterious woman connected to prominent business and political figures. This has fueled suspicions that a cover-up is underway behind his death.
The Goose Broadcaster Team, which conducted an investigation on social media, stated that Yu Menglong's phone was found in a luxury apartment complex in Beijing called Shanglin Shijia, a neighborhood inhabited by wealthy and influential people. The phone's new user is identified as a woman named Zhang Yan. The team says that Yu and the suspects' records have been deleted from the police database.
Zhang Yan starred in the 2013 show Super Boy, in which Yu Menglong also participated that same year. It is believed that the two knew each other since then. Zhang Yan is now the director of a film company owned by Zhang Lihua—and both have offices in the same area where Yu died.
People have questioned why the phone and records were hidden if it was just an accident. Some analysts say that removing records from police databases is only possible upon a high-ranking government order. Social media even suggested that China's Interior Minister, Wang Xiaohong, personally intervened in the case.
According to Vision Times, following Yu's death, another shocking development was the sudden disappearance of Guo Fang, a female official with the Qihui Art Museum. She was associated with several major state-owned companies and has been replaced by someone else.
Guo Fang's name is being linked to former Beijing Party Secretary Guo Jinlong. People believe she may be his daughter. Guo Fang's sudden removal from all posts and disappearance has fueled suspicions that this may be connected to the Yu Menglong case.
As reported by Vision Times, attention is now focused on Xin Qi, the owner of Tianyu Media. Rumors suggest he may have been involved in Yu's death. Some claimed Yu was disfigured, his face burned, and threatened. Videos circulating on social media show Yu in a depressed and frightened state. People say this case reveals the dark truth of China's entertainment industry—where powerful people control artists and the truth is often hidden.
