Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Keerthy Suresh to come together for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan?

Mani Ratnam's last directorial venture was Chekka Chivantha Vaanam

Maverick filmmaker of the entertainment industry Mani Ratnam, who is known for churning blockbuster content like Nayakan, Guru, Roja, Bombay, Dil Se, Guru, OK Kanmani and many more, is now planning his next, which is titled Ponniyin Selvan. The magnum opus is expected to be made on a lavish budget and will feature a huge star cast. As per latest reports, Ponniyin Selvan will feature biggies like Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh, Jayam Ravi and many others.

Earlier a source close to the film told India Today, “Karthi, Vikram and Jayam Ravi have been finalised to play the leads. Karthi and Jayam Ravi will start shooting for their portions from the first week of December while Vikram will complete a couple of films before joining the sets of Ponniyin Selvan. The other cast and crew will be finalised in coming months and an official announcement will be made.”

The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's historical novel and will narrate the story of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Raja Raja Chola I. While looking at the star cast and the plot, we can't hide our excitement for it and we are all ears for an official announcement. Interestingly, Mani has worked with Vikram, Karthi and Aishwarya in films like Raavan, Guru and Kaatru Veliyidai.

Mani Ratnam has recently delivered the multi-starrer blockbuster Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The film featured Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jyothika, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari and Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles.
