Bangalore Days became a cult film that is now being remade in all south languages and even Hindi. And its director, young Anjali Menon, is the first female director in Malayalam whose film ran for a 100 days. Now the Ustad Hotel director is all praise for another Malayalam film that is in the experimental genre, Chirakodinja Kinavukal.
This movie is Santhosh Viswanath’s debut directorial flick and stars Kunchacko Boban and Rima Kallingal. It falls in the spoof movie genre and is not for everyone. This movie also pokes fun at anjali’s films Ustad Hotel and Bangalore Days. But the director is not offended.
Anjali took to her Facebook page to write, “Chirakodinja Kinaavukal may not be typical blockbuster material but its definitely a spoof film with something to say! Plus funny references to Ustad Hotel & Bangalore Days J If we, the audience, really want different kinds of cinema, the only way is to watch them when they come to the theatres, isn't it?”
With a young successful director like Anjali praising this film, we are sure that Santhosh Viswanath is going to be on cloud nine. The audience though seems to have mixed feelings of love and hate towards the film.
