Bigg Boss Tamil has come under the scanner after housemate Saravanan literally boasted about having sexually harassed women during his younger days. On Monday night's episode, he again raised the topic but said that he told his story as a warning that what he did was wrong and no one should do it. This looks like a cover-up after he faced immense flak on social media. He said, "No one should commit the same mistake I did . If you do that there is punishment for sure. I raised my hand when Kamal (Haasan) sir asked the question only to reiterate that no one should do that." His statement also brought trouble for Kamal Haasan who has been heavily criticized for not being stern enough with the man. He has not commented about his apparent 'soft stand' on the statement.
On the weekend episode, Saravanan boasted that he took buses as a college-goer with the sole purpose of touching/groping female passengers. This happened after Kamal Haasan addressed Meera Mithun's allegations on Cheran that he manhandled her during a task. The star host explained that unintended pushing happens in games held inside the house. He said that people do not take buses, just with the aim to molest women. Then, Saravanan raised his hand and said he had done just that as a college student. The audience also cheered for him. Haasan then said a dialogue from his film Guna, "Avar adhaiyum thandi punidham aayitaar." It translates into, "He (Saravanan) has gone beyond all that and is now become pure and holy."
Chinmayi Sripaada, who is known for her strong voice in case of harassment lashed out against Saravanan on Twitter. She wrote, "A Tamil channel aired a man proudly proclaiming he used the Public Bus Transport system to molest/grope women - to cheers from the audience. And this is a joke. To the audience. To the women clapping. To the molester. Damn."
Last year, Kamal Haasan said that if women voice their grievances they should do it in a fair manner. He was talking about the #MeToo movement. Stay tuned to BollywoodLife for more scoops and updates!
