India's Thalaivar Rajinikanth is in Mumbai to shoot for Darbar. The film sees him in dual avatars. In one of them, he will be seen as a social activist and in another, as an IPS officer. Today, the makers Lyca Productions announced that female superstar Nayanthara will be joining the superstar on the sets. AR Murugadoss, the film's director said that he was glad to collaborate with her once again. Nayanthara is the reigning actress of Kollywood with the right mix of talent, charisma and stardom. They have worked before in Ghajini (2005) and Raja Rani (2013). Yesterday, we saw pictures of Rajinikanth shooting in Bandra for the film. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film. This is his second project after Petta. Santosh Sivan has been roped in as the film's cinematographer. AR Murugadoss welcomed her with a warm tweet.
In 1982, Rajinikanth played the role of Inspector Alex Pandian in the film Moondru Mugam. His performance is hailed as one of his best ever. Yogi Babu is also a part of the film. A few days back, Prateik Babbar was confirmed as the antagonist of the film. In an official statement, Prateik said, "It is such a dream come true to have bagged this project in such little time. This year is looking very positive for me and Sanya (Sagar) has been such a great influence on my life professionally and personally." Well, Prateik got married to Sanya earlier this year after two years of courtship. Nayanthara is on a roll as Viswasam was the highest-earning Tamil film of 2018. In the film, she was paired with Thala Ajith. People loved her performance in the movie.
Darbar's poster got a lot of love from social media. Many even compared it with the poster of Ranveer Singh's Simmba with the guns all around. The film is Rajinikanth's 167th film and could be the last one before he decides to enter full-time into politics. Stay tuned to BL for more scoops and updates!
