In another tragic development, famous filmmaker KV Anand passed away due to a cardiac arrest. He is known for his blockbusters and outstanding camerawork. It seems he was feel breathless and had chest pain. He drove himself to a Chennai hospital for a checkup. They admitted him and he died in the morning around 3 am due to a cardiac arrest. His death has sent shockwaves and plunged the South Indian film industry in gloom. Now, India Today has reported that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. His body has apparently been handed over to the Corporation for the last rites. Keeping up with the COVID-19 protocol, the family members were allowed to pay a short homage only. The last rites happened at the Basant Nagar Crematorium in Chennai.
It seems he tested positive and complications had developed due to the new strain of coronavirus. It has been reported that KV Anand's wife and daughter developed COVID-19 some time back. KV Anand had won the National Film Award in 1994 for the Malayalam movie, Thenmavin Kombath that had Mohanlal and Shobana. He started off on a successful joruney with Ayaan that starred Suriya.
