After a lot of anticipation, the makers of Karthi and Rakul Preet-starrer Dev have launched the trailer of the film. Tamil superstar and Karthi's brother Suriya launched the promo on social media and in no time it became the top trend across all platforms. Talking about the promo, the new-age love story shows Karthi in a stylish avatar, who is a Casanova but his life changes when Rakul enters his life. Looking at their crackling chemistry, it looks like a perfect Valentine's Day gift for the audience. Talking about the film, it marks the directorial debut of Rajath Ravishankar and the title of the film is inspired by the filmmaker's favourite cricketer Kapil Dev. It also marks the second collaboration between Rakul and Karthi after Theeran Adhigaaram. While Prakash Raj portrays the character of Karthi's father, Ramya Krishnan essays Rakul Preet's mother in the film. It also stars Nikki Galrani in a key role. The film is produced by S Lakshman under the banner of Prince Pictures. The cinematography of Dev is done by Velraj, who reunited with Karthi after his last super-hit Kadaikutty Singam.
