Amid the second wave of COVID-19, Dhanush's Karnan was released at the box office. Despite the pandemic crisis, the film turned out to be actor's biggest opener and went on to become a blockbuster at the ticket windows. Taking forward this successful stint, the Raanjhanaa actor has aanounced his reunion with latest blockbuster's director Mari Selvaraj, which will go on floors in 2022. Sharing this news update, Dhanush tweeted, "Elated to announce that after the blockbuster success of Karnan, Mari Selvaraj and myself are joining hands once again. Pre production going on, Shoot will commence next year." Well, looking at Karnan's box office numbers, we are sure this film too will set benchmarks at the domestic market.

Meanwhile, Dhanush will be next seen in Atrangi Re, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in key roles. The film is directed by Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Raanjhanaa and Zero helmer Aanand L Rai. The film is co-written by his frequent collaborator Himanshu Sharma. It is scheduled to release on August 6 at the box office.

The actor will also be seen in Netflix's big-budget film, The Gray Man, which is helmed by Avengers: Endgame helmers Russo Brothers. The film also stars Ryan Goslingand Chris Evans in lead roles. It is bankrolled by AGBO’s Russo Brothers and Mike Larocca, along with Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum for Roth Kirschenbaum.
